Gene L. Kintigh

Gene L. Kintigh, 66, of Lyons, passed away May 4, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 21, 1954 in Norton, Kansas, the son of Cletus M. and Norma Ilene Hawks Kintigh. Gene graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1973. He was a lifetime Lyons resident. Gene worked as a shipping expediter for Krause Plow in Hutchinson, Kansas, retiring after 45 years. After retirement, he worked at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery for two years. He was a member of First Christian Church, Lyons, and attended Faith Bible Church in Lyons. Gene enjoyed riding motorcycles, loved having morning coffee with his father at Dairy Queen; and most of all Gene spending time with his grandchildren. On August 31, 1973, Gene was united in marriage with Treva Ann Wyatt in Lyons. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his father, Cletus Kintigh of Lyons; two sons, Rex Kintigh and wife Dawn of Lyons, and Ryan Kintigh and wife Stacie of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Gary Kintigh and wife Laura of McAllen, TX; ten grandchildren, Zach and wife Leigh, Orion, Gunnar, Rheynna, Mason, Braydon, Anastasia, Lane, Kebren and wife Audra, and Logan; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Seraphina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his mother. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 8, 2020 at Faith Bible Church, Lyons with Pastor Phil Green officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M., Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. Memorials may be given to American Heart Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. The funeral service will be available to view on Faith Bible Church's Facebook page at the time of service.
