Francene Gaye Mendoza, 71, of Sterling, passed away on July 26, 2020 at Sterling Village. She was born December 26, 1948 in Alden, the daughter of Dean J. and Ruth Oribel Duncan Hoffman. Francene graduated from Alden High School, and Adela Hale Business College, Hutchinson. She was a waitress and server at Sterling Café for many years, and also worked at Sterling Food Mart for seven years. Francene enjoyed watching Walking Dead, playing the lottery, and most of all spending time with her family. On December 20, 1990, Francene was united in marriage with Victor Mendoza Sr. in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and a great-grandson, Silas Van De Outerweetering. Francene is survived by her three children, Shelley Baldwin of Sterling, Anthony Baldwin and wife Amy of Buhler, KS, and Tim McQueen and wife Kelsey of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Paul Hoffman and wife Kim of Sterling; sister, Tere Camilletti of Sterling; seven grandchildren, Abbie Baldwin and fiancé Joey Ward, Lexi McRae, Reyna Sanchez, Samantha Baldwin, Kristopher Hamby, Shyah Hamby, Harvey Hamby; and three great-grandchildren, Frankie Baldwin, Levi Ward, and Haleigh Ward. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 3, 2020 at Alden Valley Cemetery, Alden with Chaplain Jeff Owen officiating. Memorials may be given to Francene Mendoza Memorial Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
