Fern Eva Willison Griffith, 83, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away November 4, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born on July 1, 1938, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Dwight Earl and Dorothy Faye (Barnes) Willison. Fern graduated from Hutchinson High School with the class of 1956, and received a bachelor’s degree in Pre-med from Bethany Nazarene College, Bethany, Oklahoma and a bachelor’s degree as a Medical Tech from Wichita State University, Wichita. She has resided in Sterling since 2014, formerly of Wichita. On April 18, 1970, Fern was united in marriage with Warren Lee Griffith in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2002. She is also preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, William Chick; brothers, Donald Chick, and twin brothers, Earl Eugene Willison and Everett Dean Willison; sisters, Marilyn Latham and infant Betty Lee Willison. Fern is survived by her two daughters, Daphne Norez and husband Raul of Raymond, KS, and Heather A. Latiolais and husband Mike of San Ramon, CA; sister, Carolyn Zolman and husband Virgil of Houston, TX; and seven grandchildren. A private family graveside will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons with Rev. Robert Friesen officiating. Memorials may be given to Southern Poverty Law Center or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
