Doyle Duane Dobbins, 88, of Lyons, passed away December 31, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1932 in Lyons, the son of C.C. and Creta Koogle Dobbins. Doyle attended Lyons High School. He was a lifelong Lyons resident. Doyle served in the United States Army during the Korean War from February 12, 1953 until February 5, 1955. He drove a dairy route for Highland Dairy for many years. Doyle was a member of the First Christian Church, Lyons, and a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion both of Lyons. He enjoyed hunting, shooting guns and most of all loved his cat, Sir Galahad. On July 11, 1952, Doyle was united in marriage with Darlene Joyce Taunt in Lyons. They later divorced. On December 13, 1973, Doyle was united in marriage with Carol Schlatter in Hutchinson. They later divorced. Doyle is survived by his four sons, Dan Dobbins and wife Sherry of Lyons, Roger Dobbins of Wichita, Mark Dobbins of Anaheim, CA, and Scott Dobbins of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; two daughters, Cindy Dobbins of Lyons, and Angie Dobbins-Frisbie and husband Brian of Seattle, WA; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Dobbins; brother, Gene Dobbins, and sister, Marion Griffin. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with Pastor Joel Grizzle officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present from 3:00 until 5:00. Memorials may be given to Friendship Meals, Rice County Council on Aging, or a Charity of your choice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
