Donald Edwin “Don” Andersen, 68, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away January 24, 2021 at his home. He was born April 3, 1952 in Eureka, Kansas, the son of Floyd K. and Ruth E. O’Dell Andersen. Don graduated from Wichita North High School with the class of 1970 and received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education from Wichita State University. He worked as a purchaser and in shipping and receiving at Oneok Hydrocarbon Plant in Bushton, Kansas for 43 years. Don was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Lyons; was an Eagle Scout and Scout Leader for Troop #702, Wichita, and a Scout Leader for Troop #7164, Lyons. He enjoyed golfing, boating, water skiing, and most of all spending time with his family. On October 24, 1987, Don was united in marriage with Annette Lyon in Newton, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Annette Andersen; son, Scott M. Andersen of Okmulgee, OK, and fiancé Hanah Daugherty of Tahlequah, OK; brothers, Rodney Andersen and wife Gennette of Valley Center, KS, and Ronald A. Andersen of Wichita, KS; six nieces; one nephew; and twenty-one great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with Dr. Donald Strohmeyer and Rev. Robert Friesen officiating.
