Donald Wayne Miller, 77, of Chase, Kansas, passed away April 1, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born on January 25, 1948, in Lyons, Kansas, the son of Norman and Mary Jeanette (Bolton) Miller. Donald graduated from Chase High School with the class of 1966. He was a lifelong Chase resident and farmer. Donald served in the Kansas National Guard in the heavy artillery division. He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, Chase. Donald was a hunter safety instructor and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked going to farm sales and bringing home lots of treasures. Donald loved tinkering in his shed and most of all watching his grandsons at their sporting events. On August 15, 1970, Donald was united in marriage with Ruth Popp in Chase, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Miller of Chase, KS; three sons, Justin (Mellisa) Miller of Hutchinson KS, Tim (Tamara) Miller of Chase, KS, and Brent Miller of Larned, KS; daughter, Julie Miller of Chase, KS; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Nicholas and William Miller, Morgan Janzen, Brooke Miller, Shara Miller and Faith Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Becky Malone and Kathryn Miller Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Chase Community Presbyterian Church with Debbie Easterling and Mitch Light officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Friday, April 11, 2025, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice House of Hutchinson in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
