David Bryan Myers, 64, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away May 25, 2022, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born February 27, 1958, in Little River, Kansas, the son of Lloyd Robert “Bob” and Helen Huffman Myers. David was a lifelong Rice County resident. He graduated from Little River High School, Little River, Kansas, with the class of 1976. David was owner and operator of M&M Rentals, an antique refinishing business, Shaggy’s Bar in Little River, and Jarvis Creek Kennels of Lyons. He was a machinist at Eaton Corporation in Hutchinson, mechanic for Bob’s Auto in Little River, worked seventeen years for American Mapland building extruders, was an electrician, drove a spray rig for Collingwood, and worked at the Dalco Gas Plant in Hutchinson. David was a volunteer for the Habitat ReStore in Lyons repairing appliances and for the Little River Fire Department. He was a singer and guitar player for Prairie Fire and Penn Central. David was a member of NRA and Liar’s Fishing Club. On June 11, 1988, David was united in marriage with Patricia “Patty” Peters in Little River, Kansas. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his brother, Bob Myers and wife Marilyn of Summerfield, FL; sister, Kim Halbert and husband Kurt of Little River, KS; sister-in-law, Barbara Myers of McPherson, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew Myers; and two brothers, Terry and Danny Myers. Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River, with Pastor Ted Weis officiating. The family requests casual dress for the service. There will be a reception for family and friends following the service at the Congregational Church, Little River. Memorials may be given to the Little River Friendship Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
