Darlene Faye (Estabrook) Young

Darlene Faye Young, 71, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away July 14, 2019 at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born November 20, 1947 in Sterling, Kansas, the daughter of John and Hazel Cruth Estabrook. Darlene graduated from Sterling High School. She was a longtime Lyons resident, having resided in Hutchinson for the past four years. Darlene owned and operated a home daycare. On May 2, 1967, Darlene was united in marriage with Sheldon “Wesley” Young in Great Bend, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1980. She is also preceded in death by her parents; son, Eric S. Young; and brother, Virgil Estabrook. She is survived by her three daughters, Vicki Brogan and husband Sean of Hutchinson, KS, Kelly Jury and husband Scott of Junction City, KS, and Holly Hall and husband Billy of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Marvin Estabrook and wife Cheryl of Lyons, KS; and four grandchildren, Nate and Ruby Jury, and Hayden and Hunter Hall. Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Lyons Municipal Cemetery with Chaplain Luke Helmuth officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Darlene F. Young Memorial Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
