Daniel M. "Danny" Smith

Daniel M. “Danny” Smith, 74, of Geneseo, Kansas, passed away April 30, 2019 at his home. He was born on August 10, 1944 in Austin, Texas, the son of John and Pearl Willms Smith. Danny graduated from the Body and Fender Department at Pittsburg State University. He was a longtime Geneseo resident. Danny was a retired farmer and former owner of Smith’s Body Shop of Hutchinson. He was of the Catholic faith. On November 1, 1986, Danny was united in marriage with Sheila Sramek in Hutchinson. She survives of the home in Hutchinson. He is also survived by his sons, Troy Smith of Gilbert, AZ, and Mike Smith of Hutchinson, KS, Cody Smith of Minneola, KS; daughter, Jessica Smith of Hutchinson; and granddaughter, Tiana Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl J. Smith and Owen Smith. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 6, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with Pastor Larry Schumacher. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M., Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present. Memorials may be given to the Smith Family Memorial Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
