Connie Hunter Obituary

Connie Rae Hunter, 70, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away September 24, 2024, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born March 27, 1954, in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Doris (Tittel) Miller. Connie has resided in Lyons since 1977. She attended Lyons High School with the class of 1972 and graduated from Bushton High School, Bushton, Kansas, with the class of 1973. Connie worked at the Lyons Daily News for forty-five years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lyons, where she taught Sunday School for twenty years. Connie was a member of the Mixers Bowling League, former Girl Scout Leader and founders of the Girl Scout Troup in Bushton, Kansas. On June 5, 1971, Connie was united in marriage with Jack Hunter in Lyons. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2016. She is also preceded in death by her mother; paternal grandparents, William and Mary Tittel; maternal grandparents, Vernon and Nellie Miller. Connie is survived by her two daughters, Jackie Moore and significate other Tim Wright of Larned, KS, and Regina Kraft and husband Joe of Vandalia, MO; father, Raymond Miller and wife Deena of Hutchinson, KS; two brothers, Roger Miller of Clarksville, TN, and Richard Miller and wife Wendi of Loveland, CO; four grandchildren, Micah Waterlander and husband Kevin of Savannah, GA, Rebecca Hornback of Vandalia, MO, Brandi Otto and husband Drew of Lyons, KS, and Jeremy Kraft and significate other Mercedes Seigrist of Vandalia, MO; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob Allen, Brooks Otto, Jace Kraft, Josephine Waterlander, and Liam Allen. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 30, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, Lyons, with Pastor Joel Grizzle officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, Lyons in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
