Clyde E. Swansen, 94, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away May 2, 2024, at Azria Health in Wichita, Kansas. He was born March 25, 1930, in Little River, Kansas, the son of EV and Chris Swansen. Clyde served in the United States Army during the Korean War from June 25, 1950 until May 23, 1952. He was married to Barbara Swansen. They had two children, Tim Swansen and John Swansen. He was married to Susanne (Roland) Swansen. They had three children, Doug Swansen, Kim Swansen, and Karen (Swansen) McDade. He was married to Mary Swansen. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Tim Swansen, and Doug Swansen; and two brothers, Chris Swansen and Elis Swansen. Clyde is survived by his children, John Swansen, Kim Swansen, and Karen (Swansen) McDade; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Rowdy McDade, and Lukas McDade. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 6, 2024 at Geneseo Cemetery, Geneseo, Kansas, with Clark Jacobs officiating. Military honors by the United States Army – Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Sterling American Legion Post #128 in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
