Cletus M. Kintigh

Cletus M. Kintigh, 98, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away March 15, 2021 in Lyons. He was born August 27, 1922 in Norton, Kansas, the son of Clarence T. and Nettie S. Jury Kintigh. Cletus has resided in Lyons since 1954, formerly of Norton. He worked for the City of Lyons as a street sweeper from 1955 until retiring in 1988. Cletus was a member of the First Christian Church, Lyons, and the Salt Shakers Camping Club. On May 1, 1946, Cletus was united in marriage with Norma I. Hawks in Norton. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2009. He is also preceded in death by his parents; son, Gene Kintigh; two brothers, Claire and Duane Kintigh; sister, Lula Hicks; and two granddaughters, Paula and Teresa Kintigh. Cletus is survived by a son, Gary L. Kintigh and wife Laura of McAllen, TX; daughter-in-law, Treva Kintigh of Lyons; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and companion and caretaker, Mary Lackey. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 19, 2021 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to First Christian Church in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
