Brenda Marie Martindale

Brenda Marie Martindale, 49, of Lyons, passed away September 20, 2019 at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons, Kansas. She was born February 16, 1970 in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Lee and Linda Burnett Martindale. Brenda graduated from Wichita County High School with the class of 1989, and obtained a Cosmetology License from Barton County Community College in 1990. She went on to become a certified Respiratory Therapist through Seward County Community College. Brenda worked in Guymon, Oklahoma for eight and half years, and as a traveling respiratory therapist in Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Tennessee, New Mexico, Kansas, Minnesota, and Connecticut. She also worked as a volunteer fire fighter, and Paramedic in Guymon, OK, settling in Lyons in September 2017, where she worked for Hospital District #1 of Rice County. At the age of nine, Brenda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was faith grown at Community Christian Church of Scott City, Kansas, and baptized at the age of eleven. Brenda was a fortified member at Faith Bible Church, Lyons. She loved her family, especially her niece, Aubree; and animals. Brenda is survived by her husband, Chris Pond of the home; parents, Lee and Linda Martindale of Leoti, KS; maternal grandmother, Lottie Burnett of Dighton, KS; and brother, Michael Martindale and wife Belinda of Dighton, KS. She is preceded in death by her, paternal grandparents, Doyle and Edna Martindale; and maternal grandfather, Howard Burnett. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Faith Bible Church, Lyons with Pastor Phil Green officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present. Memorials may be given to Faith Bible Church in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
