Bobbie Sue (Scott) Brower

Bobbie Sue Scott Brower, 91, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away May 21, 2023, at Hospital District #1 Rice County, Lyons. She was born May 12, 1932, in Longview, Texas, the daughter of Harmon Leroy Dewitt and Hattie Francis Lanham Scott. Bobbie has resided in Lyons since 1987, formerly of New Mexico. She worked as a lunchroom monitor at Park Elementary and as a cook at Camp Wa-Ja-To both in Lyons. Bobbie was a member of the Lyons VFW Women’s Auxiliary Gold Circle. She volunteered at the Rice County Women’s Thrift Shop, delivered Friendship Meals, and was a soda jerk at the Good Samaritan Society. On September 2, 1978, Bobbie was united in marriage with Donald L. Brower in Lyons. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2004. She is also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Dorothy Roof, Mary Helm, and Lona Potter; two brothers, John Logan Scott and Theo Scott; and a grandson, Caden Clark. She is survived by her three sons, Larry Brayton and wife Kathy of Tecumseh, KS, Daniel Brayton and wife Debbie of Enid, OK, and Richard Brayton and wife Kim of Lyons, KS; daughter, Patty Voth and husband Dennis of Enid, OK; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with William and Jenny Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Camp Wa-Ja-To in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
