Beverly Glenn “Manny” Boatwright, 66, of Chase, passed away February 9, 2019 at his home in Chase. He was born on December 11, 1952 in Fort Pierce, Florida, the son of Jessie and Voncelle Brown Boatwright. Manny has resided in Chase for the past four years, formerly of Deland, Florida. He was an operator for Kizzar Well Servicing Inc. and Kelso Well Service both of Chase, for 14 years; and was a roofer for fifteen years. Manny liked listening to rock and roll music; tinkering around at his home; riding his motorcycle; and especially loved his dog Shadow. He is survived by his significant other, Andrea Dry of Chase; sons, Glenn Boatwright Jr. and wife Brenda of Geneseo, KS, Ryan Boatwright of Killeen, TX, and Manny Boatwright Jr. of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter, Stephanie Nieto of Okeechobee, FL; brothers, Bo Boatwright and wife Jackie Palm Bay, FL, and Crockett Boatwright of FL.; sisters, Delores Browning and husband Gerald of AL, Gerri Turner and husband Tim of AL, Brenda Hixon of AL, and Judy Yeats and husband Clark of Milburn, FL; two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and ex-wife, Lisa Boatwright of WaKeeney, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, John Paul Boatwright; infant daughter, Tabitha Boatwright; brother, Boy Bones; and nephew, Ricky Bass. A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Chase City Park, Chase, Kansas. Memorials may be given to Beverly Boatwright Memorial Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
