Barbara Gayle (Neaderhiser) McAllaster

Barbara Gayle McAllaster, 74, of McKinney, Texas, passed away April 29, 2026, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Frisco, Texas. She was born June 24, 1951, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Wilbur F. and Twila I. (Luthi) Neaderhiser. Barbara has resided in McKinney for the past eight years, formerly of Plano, Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico. She worked as a medical records director, HIPAA Compliance Officer, and for United Healthcare Insurance Company. Barbara was a member of Gateway Church, Frisco, where she was very active with the prayer team. Barbara was married on July 25, 1970 to Mark McAllaster in Lyons, Kansas. Together they had 2 children, Chad and Amy and were married for 17 years. Barbara enjoyed praying, organizing events for her church group, walking, and thrifting. Barbara is survived by her son, Chad McAllaster and wife Tammy of Midland, TX; daughter, Amy McAllaster of Littleton, CO; two sisters, Jan Vann of Denton, TX, and Robin Carlson and husband Max of Sterling, KS; and three grandchildren, Evan McAllaster of Lubbock, TX, Hunter Schmitz and Tanner Schmitz both of Littleton, CO. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 22, 2026, at the First Christian Church, Lyons, with Pastor Nickia Larsen officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M., until service time at the church, with family present. Memorials may be given to Gateway Church, 7125 Legacy Drive, Frisco, TX 75034, in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
