Barbara Ann (Byers) Hubbard

Barbara Ann (Byers) Hubbard, 85, of Little River, passed away September 12, 2020 at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River. She was born April 18, 1935 in McPherson, the daughter of George and Jessie Platner Byers. Barbara attended Odessa Grade School for eight years, and later graduated from Little River High School with the class of 1953. She was a lifelong Little River resident. Barbara was a farm wife. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Little River; United Methodist Women; former board member of the Little River Senior Center; former past president of the Odessa EHU; former member of the Pleasant View 4-H Club; and a member of the Little River Birthday Club. On April 18, 1953, Barbara was united in marriage with Richard J. “Dick” Hubbard. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kenneth, Phillip and Gary Byers; and two sisters, Dolores Byers and Carole Schinstock. Barbara is survived by her three children, Ron Hubbard and companion Sue Price of Rose Hill, KS, Diane Doll of Salina, KS, and Sandra Willems and husband Dan of Windom, KS; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 18, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church, Little River with Pastor Jeff Goetzinger officiating. Burial will be at Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. Memorials may be given to Sandstone Heights Nursing Home in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
