Audrey Darl (Beneke) Carter

Audrey Darl Carter, 89, passed away October 20, 2025, at the Village of the Woodlands Waterway, The Woodlands, Texas. She was born October 27, 1935, in Frederick, Kansas, the daughter of Oscar and Aileon (Weihe) Beneke. Audrey has resided in Texas since 2017, formerly of Bushton, Kansas. She graduated from Bushton High School, with the class of 1953 and attended Fort Hays State University for one year. Audrey was a farm wife and Avon Sales Representative. She was a member of the Salem Church, Bushton and United Methodist Women. Audrey enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and John Sager music, attending class reunions and family reunions, going antique shopping, and most of all spending time with her family. She loved Christmas and card parties. On June 3, 1962, Audrey was united in marriage with Dean Carter in rural Bushton. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Norman Beneke. Audrey is survived by her two children, Darla Miller and husband David of Bellville, TX, and Darrin Carter and wife Shari of Bennington, KS; brother, Dale Beneke of Salina, KS; four grandchildren, Terri Martinez and husband Adon, Dustin Carter and wife Ame, Brad Miller and wife Tiffany, and Holly Mantey and husband Daniel; and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 27, 2025, at Salem Church, Bushton, with Pastor Tom Reazin officiating. Burial will follow at the Bushton-Farmer Township Cemetery, Bushton. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M., Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present. Memorials may be given to Michael J. Fox Foundation or the BCDI Building in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
