Anna Marie (Cruth) Burns

Anna Marie (Cruth) Burns, 85, of Lyons, KS, passed away August 31, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, KS. She was born June 24, 1935 in Raymond, Kansas, the daughter of Bennie Martin and Jannie Lickteig Cruth. Anna has resided in Rice County since 1988, formerly of Ralston, NE. She graduated from Raymond High School with the class of 1953.  Anna was a homemaker.  In her early years she worked as a nurse’s aide, a teacher’s aide, and was a teacher at Corner Stone Daycare at the First Baptist Church in Lyons.  She was a member of Faith Bible Church, Lyons.  Anna enjoyed traveling, flowers, watching birds, reading, and dark chocolate. On August 21, 1953, Anna was united in marriage with Robert Burns at Raymond Baptist Church, Raymond, Kansas. He survives of the home. She is also survived by a son, Bob D. Burns of Raymond, KS; daughter, Julie A. Fernen and husband Mike of Papillion, NE; four grandchildren, Natasha Rushing and husband Kevin, Michaela Koehler and husband Gavin, Brianna Dunbar and husband Tanner, and Jennica Fernen; and six great grandchildren.  Anna was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Craig Burns; daughter, Nancy Jo Burns; and five sisters, Mildred Guthrie, Margaret Stuart, Vera Steierl, Velma Hoelscher, and Alberta Zongker.  Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Faith Bible Church, Lyons with Pastor Phil Green officiating. Burial will be at Raymond Hilltop Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 4, 2020 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. Memorials may be given to Faith Bible Church (for missions and outreach) in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
