Amy Hazlett Obituary

Amy Lynn Hazlett, 71, of Raymond, Kansas, passed away May 30, 2022, at her home. She was born September 8, 1950, in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of Dean and Joan Cooley Mardis. Amy has resided in Raymond for the past thirteen years, formerly of Garden City, Kansas. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School, Racine, Wisconsin, with the class of 1967. Amy worked at CPI Print and Copy Center, Great Bend, Kansas, as a secretary for Bush, Bush & Shanelec Attorney’s office, Lyons, and for Rice County Appraiser’s Office, Lyons. She also worked parttime for Prairie Flower Crafts in Alden, Kansas. Amy was a member of the House of Prayer, Chase, Senior Center, Chase and Quilt Guild. Amy enjoyed Quilting. On May 30, 1984, Amy was united in marriage with Robert “Bob” Hazlett in Lamar, Colorado. He survives in the home. She is also survived by her two daughters, Lynn Eberhardt and husband Troy of Lamar, CO, and Lori Kells and husband Jeremy of Garden City, KS; son, Nathan Manring and wife Amy of Garden City, KS; brother, Gary Mardis and wife Brenda of AZ; sister, Carol Kusters of Kansas City, MO; aunt, Maggie Mardis of Franklin, IN; and eight grandchildren. Amy is preceded in death by her grandmother, Beulah Mae Mardis of Franklin, IN; parents; and brother, Steve Mardis. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Raymond Gym, Raymond, KS with Alan Root officiating with a lunch following. Memorials may be given to the Chase House of Prayer or the Raymond Gym in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
