William Ervin Hall Obituary

William Ervin “Bill” Hall, 81, of Windom, passed away June 13, 2019, at his home. He was born April 21, 1938, in Forest, Mississippi, the son of Parker and Dorothy Harrison Hall. Bill graduated from Ringgold Vocational High School, MS; Jones County Junior College in the free state of Jones County, MS; he also attended The University of Southern Mississippi. Bill has resided in Windom since 2006, formerly of Pensacola, Florida. He was part owner of Bar HJ Ranch, Little River, KS; and a military contractor. Bill served in the United States Navy from September 13, 1958 until his retirement on October 31, 1987. He is a member of Hutchinson Reno Masonic Lodge #124; Dwight Lamson American Legion Post #258, Little River, KS; Forest Lodge #437, Forest, MS; Ensley Masonic #278, Pensacola, FL, and served as Master in 2005; Scottish Rite, Tokyo, Japan; York Rite, Tokyo, Japan; HADJI Temple, Pensacola, FL; Eastern Star Silver Leaf Chapter, Hutchinson, KS; Shiner’s International; and Ellisville First United Methodist Church, Elllisville, MS. On October 23, 1963, Bill was united in marriage with Sue Matsumoto in Tokyo, Japan. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2016. He is also preceded in death by his parents; and an infant daughter. He is survived by his daughter, Frances Johannsen and husband Kenny of Little River; brother, Hugh Wayne Hall and wife Patsy of Forest, MS, and their daughters, Jennifer and Shelly; sister, Linda Arnold and husband Jerry of Jackson, MS, and their son, Jerry Lee; adopted sister, Belinda Hall-Jones of Gautier, MS; and grand dog, Annie Johannsen. Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 17, 2019 at Andover Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Rachel Pryor officiating and military honors by the United States Navy and Masonic Rites. Visitation will be 2:00 until 4:00 P.M., Sunday, June 16, 2019, with family present at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. Memorials may be given to Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Inc. in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
