Susan Michele (Lucas) Casey

Susan Michele Casey, 71, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away October 5, 2019 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born October 4, 1948, in Lyons, the daughter of Gail D. and Juanita B. Clampitt Lucas. Susan attended Lyons Schools. Susan was a near lifelong Rice County resident. She was a housewife and foster parent. Susan was baptized at the First Baptist Church, Chase. She enjoyed garage sales and auctions, collecting Coke-Cola memorabilia, Elvis Presley, playing the slot machines, and feeding and watching the birds. On July 27, 1983, Susan was united in marriage with Jim L. Casey in Pueblo, Colorado. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her three children, Don Weaver and wife Frances, Jerry Weaver and wife Kathy, and Tina Maas and husband Tony all of Lyons; brother, Eugene Lucas of California; four sisters, Shirley Sheridan of Raymond, KS, Dee Hammer of Lyons, Diane Archer of Lyons, and Debbie Fox of Larned, KS; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Leslie Lucas and Steven Lucas. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 11, 2019 at Lyons Municipal Cemetery with Dr. Donald Strohmeyer officiating. Memorials may be given to Muscular Dystrophy Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
