Sheryl Dimond Colle, 73, of Little River, Kansas, passed away June 4, 2019 at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River. She was born January 5, 1946 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Cliff and Thelma Carter Dimond. Sheryl graduated from Little River High School with the class of 1964; and later received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ft. Hays State University; and a Master’s degree in nursing from Wichita State University. She has resided in Little River for the past three years; formerly of Helena, Alabama for 29 years. Sheryl was a maternity nursing instructor for Hutchinson Jr. College and Jefferson State Jr. College retiring June 1, 2011. She was well-loved and respected by fellow nursing instructors and students alike for 37 years. She was passionate about serving her church family through the gift of music by playing piano or keyboard since high school. Sheryl was also a gifted quilter who loved to share her skill and talent with those who would receive her quilts, and those who wanted to learn the craft. She was a faithful member of Congregational Church, Little River. On June 7, 1968, Sheryl was united in marriage with Guy Colle in Hays, Kansas. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her son, Mark Colle of Kansas City, Kansas; daughter, Jeannine Sonnier of Fort Collins, CO; sister, Colleen Davis of Pelham, AL; and four grandchildren, whom she deeply loved and brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Carl Dimond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 10, 2019 at Congregational Church, Little River, with Pastor Ted Weis officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Congregational Church, Little River in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
