Our sympathy to Sara’s family. Sara was my dad’s (Robert Gloyd) favorite cousin and my namesake. We visited Alden several years ago, and she gave us a tour of her town which she was so proud of. It gives us a good memory of Sara.

Hello Barbara and Jim,
My sincere sympathies to you in your loss but what joy we can have in the life that was lived. Your mom was such a great lady! I always enjoyed the pictures and movies remembering way back to when she took them when I was in grade school.. As mentioned, she was a driven person, ready to move on to the next thing, but would stop and visit and break into that wonderful smile and little laugh. She was always interested in how others were doing and I appreciated her support of and interest in my girls. She will be missed.

Barbara & Jim,

Please accept my condolences for your loss. I am a distant relative from the Indiana Marie Fitch side. I can still remember when my parents visited your farm in the summer of 1958. We were traveling out west on one of our many western trips. That night we stayed overnite and watched Sputnik traverse the sky from your back patio. Your dad gave us a tour of the farm the next morning before we onour way. Our prayers are with you.

Hi Mark, I’ve just been working on the Fitches, and the Fairs, and how they settled Dekalb County in the 1830s, amazing men. And I think I remember your trip in 1958. We didn’t have many cousins, so any were cherished. Thanks Mark for thinking of Sara and us, she enjoyed her life. Barbara

To Barb and Jim and family, Please accept my sympathy on the loss of your mom. These good-byes are never easy. Your mom was an amazing lady! Just reading her obituary left me with new admiration. I remember she always wore a big smile and gave out the best Halloween treats! As an adult, I appreciated hearing how she continued to support the Alden community in any way she could. Please accept my love and prayers for you in the days ahead from your old friend, Linda Thomas Hughes
