Raymond “Beaver” Serbin, 79, of Lyons, passed away July 7, 2019 at Pioneer Lodge Nursing Home, Coldwater, Kansas. He was born October 13, 1939 in Lyons, the son of Jacinto and Providencia Ortiz Serbin. Beaver graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1957. He was a plant manager at Enron, and owner/operator of Lawns by Serbin, Lyons. Beaver was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons. He volunteered a lot of his time to the Lyons community, Habitat for Humanity, and donated his lawn services to area churches. Beaver loved to travel, food, and enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Bixby of Solomon, KS, and Robyn Serbin of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Salvador Serbin and wife Jeanette of Stockbridge, GA; sister, Vera Reiman of Ellinwood, KS; and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Gina Renee Serbin, brothers, David and Benito Serbin; and sisters, Triena Martinez and Aurora Serbin. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 12, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons with Father Adam Grelinger officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Parish rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to American Heart Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
