Nancy June Hancock, 76, of Lyons, passed away October 14, 2019 at her home. She was born March 26, 1943 in Glencoe, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jim and Mildred Cannon McLaughlin. She has resided in Lyons since 2015, formerly of Hayden, Alabama where she resided from 2001 until 2015. Nancy was an accountant for Southwest Electric and Hancock Electric from 1964 until 1999. She was a police matron for twelve years, and a school crossing guard supervisor, both in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Nancy was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Warrior, AL. She served 12 years in the Army Reserve attaining the rank of E-7 Sergeant. On March 2, 1960, Nancy was united in marriage with Myron Hancock in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her sons, Myron Leroy Hancock Jr. and wife Valerie of Dunlop, TN, and Ron Hancock and wife Billy Jo of Bailey, CO; daughter, Bonnie Goans and husband Walter of Lyons; niece, Pamela Sue McDaniels and husband Rick of Glencoe, OK; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carol Moore and Willene Robinson; and brother, Ted Matlock. Private family services to be held. Memorials may be given to ASPCA in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
