Minnie M. (Watson) Thompson

Minnie M. Thompson, 95, of Paris, Tennessee, formerly of Lakewood, California, passed away June 7, 2019 at her home in Paris, TN. She was born July 9, 1923 in Avant, Oklahoma, the daughter of Morgan Franklin and Mildred Ann Faught Watson. She graduated from Barnsdall High School, Barnsdall, OK, with the class of 1941. Minnie resided in Paris, TN, since 2017. She was a member of Whitlock Church of Christ, Paris, TN. On October 27, 1945, Minnie was united in marriage with John A. Thompson. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2008. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James M. and Robert E. Watson. She is survived by her daughter Anne Russell and husband Jack of Paris, TN; son, John R. Thompson and wife Tania of Inman, KS; sister, Shirley Ann Zempel of Minneapolis, MN; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons with Preacher Robert Taverner officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 12:00 P.M., Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present. Memorials may be given to Breast Cancer Foundation in care of Birzer Funeral Home.
