Mary Ann (Reed) Smith

Mary Ann Reed Smith, 57, passed away April 27, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospice, Wichita, Kansas. She was born December 8, 1961 in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Barbara (Minix) Reed. Mary has resided in Sterling for the past year, formerly of Dodge City, Kansas. While in Dodge City, Mary worked at Western Plains Regional Hospital. On May 18, 2018, Mary was united in marriage with Jeff D. Smith. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her sisters, Jody and Paul Markus and Robin and John Ralston; and brother, Douglas and Aliss Reed. She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Baird; and son Joshua Reed. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 3, 2019 at Assembly of God, Sterling with Pastor Kendal Connor officiating. Memorials may be given to Assembly of God, Sterling, or Friends of Animals Rice County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
