Janice Darlene “Jan” Buckbee, 79, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away July 2, 2019 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born November 6, 1939 in Little River, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer F. “Pete” and Marjorie “Margie” Ingraham Hass. Jan graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1957. She was a nurse aide at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons, from 1976 until retiring in 2003. Jan was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lyons, and Bon Ami Sunday School Class. On September 4, 1958, Jan was united in marriage with Kenneth “Ken” Buckbee in Frederick, Kansas. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her son, Steve Buckbee and companion Julie Blew of McPherson, KS; daughter, Linda Pritchett of McPherson, KS; three grandchildren, Angie Givens and husband Wes, Lindsey Buckbee, and Shawn Buckbee and wife Audrey; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, Alan Pritchett. Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with Pastor Kim Shank officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 5, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church, Lyons or Hospice House of Reno County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
