Henry Edward Briscoe, 78, of Little River, Kansas, passed away February 23, 2019 at his home. He was born March 9, 1940 in Little River, Kansas, the son of Charles Keith and Alma Voth Briscoe. He graduated from Little River High School with class 1959. Henry was a lifelong Little River resident. Henry was a custodian at Little River High School from 1979, until retiring in 2003. He served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967. Henry was a member of United Methodist Church, Little River; Methodist Men; and Dwight Lamson American Legion Post #258, Little River. On May 16, 1970, Henry was united in marriage with Arah Lee Alton in Little River. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his son, Lee Briscoe of Little River; daughter, Estella Arnold and husband Bill of Little River; sisters, Ada Marie Baxter and husband Bill of Lyons, and Donna Dee Hewitt and husband Phillip of Little River; three grandchildren, Kaleb Arnold, and Keith and Abigail Briscoe. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Lee Briscoe, and Charles “Chuck” Briscoe; and sister, Laveta Jean Schafer. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 28, 2019 at United Methodist Church, Little River, with Pastor Jeff Goetzinger officiating. Burial will be in Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River with military honors by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church, Little River, in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
