David Paul Belote

David Paul Belote, 65, of Alden, died August 8, 2018 at the Kansas University Medical Center. He was born December 18, 1952 in Lyons, KS, the son of Benjamin Bertram and Ida Geneva VanDest Belote. He graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1971. David has resided in Alden since 1996, formerly of Lyons, where he resided from 1993 to 1996, and Gruver, TX from 1980 to 1993. He was a mechanic for Phillips Petroleum. David served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Bible Society and a lifetime member of the NRA. He married Betty Popp in Chase, Kansas. They later separated. David is survived by his two brothers, Ted Belote of Lyons, KS and Robert Belote of Yakima, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Belote; and sister, Virginia Cates. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 13, 2018 at Assembly of God Church, Lyons with Pastor Larry Schumacher officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Assembly of God Church, Lyons, with family present. Burial will be at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Bible Society in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
