Charles Gates Obituary

Charles Ray Gates, 65, of Lyons, passed away November 22, 2017 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1951 in Ft. Smith, Ark., the son of Cleo and Helen (Porter) Gates. He has resided in Lyons since 2006, formerly of Hutchinson. Charles worked as a mechanic for Mid-Kansas Marine and RV in Hutchinson. He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon Norman of Fremont, NE, and Cheyenne Gates of Hutchinson; son, William Gates of Hutchinson; two grandchildren, Gideon and Cyrus Norman; and the Gates family from Wichita. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Leon Gates. Private family services will be held. Memorials can be made to the Charles Gates Memorial Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
