Beverly Ann (Dolezal) Bennett

Beverly Ann Bennett, 69, of Sterling, passed away February 21, 2019 in Sterling. She was born on September 27, 1949 in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of George and Ferne Dressler Dolezal. She graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 1967. Beverly has been a longtime Sterling resident. She was a retired cosmetologist and owner of Bev’s Beauty Shop, Sterling. Beverly was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sterling; American Legion Auxiliary Post #128, Sterling; and Beta Sigma Phi. On March 16, 1974, Beverly was united in marriage with John Bennett in Alden, Kansas. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her father, George Dolezal of Salina, KS; two daughters, Cassie Bennett of Wichita, KS, and Mindy J. Bennett of Sterling; brother, Dan Dolezal of Hutchinson, KS; step-brother, JD Webb of Plano, TX;  four sisters, Sherry Lackey and husband Lowen of Sterling, Gayle Stucky and husband Allen of Castleton, KS, Kaye Dolezal of Hutchinson, KS, and Joyce Robinson and husband Rob of Roggen, CO; granddaughter, Bennett Knight; and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ferne Webb; step-father, Delorma Webb; step-mother, Ruth Dolezal; sister, Daisy Whitmore; and nephew, Mark Carter. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Sterling with Pastor Rob Bolton officiating. Burial will be at Peace Creek Cemetery, rural Sterling at a later date. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Sterling with family present. Memorials may be given to Bennett Knight Education Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
