Arnold Willis Darrah, 78, of Lyons, passed away September 24, 2018 at Sterling Presbyterian Manor, Sterling, Kansas. He was born September 4, 1940 in Lyons, Kansas the son of Will and Rosa Massie Darrah. He attended Lyons High School. Arnold has resided in Lyons for the past 50 years, having lived in Topeka and Sterling for a few years. Arnold served in the United States Army as a basic missleman and M14 marksman from February 25, 1960 until February 24, 1966. He retired from the American Salt Plant, Lyons, after working in a variety of roles for 30 plus years. On April 12, 1963, Arnold was united in marriage with Ruth Ham in Topeka, KS. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2005. Arnold was united in marriage with Angie Martinez on February 24, 2007 in Lyons. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his two sons, Craig Darrah and wife Sara of Buffalo Grove, IL, and Jim Darrah of Hutchinson, KS; daughter, Wanita Johnson and husband Douglas of Hutchinson, KS; two step-daughters, Julia Dill of Wichita, and Nora Horton of Lyons, KS; two brothers, Beryl Darrah and Marvin Darrah both of Topeka, KS; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with Pastor Amy Foster officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. Memorials can be made to Kindred Hospice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
