Ronald Eugene Wilson, 80, formerly of Lyons, Kansas, passed away March 7, 2024, at Sterling Village, Sterling, Kansas. He was born April 13, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Russell Forrest and Jessie Pauline (Rice) Wilson. Ron was a lifelong Lyons resident. He graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1962. Ron worked as a laborer at Lyons Foundry, Lyons, and later as a custodian at Superior Essex in Hoisington, Kansas. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Lyons, fifty year member of the Order of DeMolay Lyons Chapter #1194, past member of Chase Masonic Lodge #247, past member of Claflin Masonic Lodge #424, past patron of Carnation Chapter #276 Order of Eastern Star, Chase, dual member of Claflin Chapter #487 Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Scottish Rite, Wichita, member of Independent Order of Oddfellows & Rebekahs of Kansas and life member of the International Order of DeMolay Alumni Association. Ron enjoyed constructing and operating model trains. Ron is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Sterling Village Chapel, Sterling, with Masonic Rites. Burial will follow at the Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Assembly of God Church, Lyons, or St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Lyons in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
