Linda Ruth (Burgess) Eades

Linda Ruth (Burgess) Eades, 76, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away March 17, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born June 1, 1947, in Lyons, the daughter of Jack and Ruth (Brubaker) Burgess. Linda was a near lifelong Lyons resident. She graduated from Chase High School with the class of 1965. She later received her secretary certificate from Brown Mackie College in Salina, and later her LPN degree from Barton County Community College. She was an (LPN) Licensed Practical Nurse at numerous local nursing homes. Linda was a member of Faith Bible Church, Lyons, where she taught children’s church and was a Sunday school teacher. She volunteered at the Rice County Women’s Thrift Shop. Linda enjoyed riding horses, sewing, crafting, and playing the piano. She was a daycare provider and foster parent; and was a mother to more than just her kids. On April 15, 1967, Linda was united in marriage with Walter Eades in Chase. She is survived by her husband, Walter of Lyons; four children, Mark Eades and wife Lisa of Cedar Rapids, IA, Anita Miles of Lyons, KS, Jason Eades and wife Sarah of Great Bend, KS, and Joseph Davidson and wife Jody of Topeka, KS; brother, Richard Burgess of Lyons, KS, two sisters, Nancy Henry of Sterling, KS, and Norma Zajic of Holyrood, KS; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other children she fostered in her life. Linda is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and infant sister, Barbara Jean Burgess. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Faith Bible Church, Lyons, with Pastor Phil Green officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Faith Bible Church or the Rice County Women’s Thrift Shop in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
