PLACE OF BIRTH: rural Sterling at the Kilbourn Ranch

PARENTS: Nelson and Roberta Cooke Kilbourn

RESIDENCE: longtime Sterling formerly of Fredrick, Okla., Estes Park, Co., Canton, TX.

OCCUPATION: He worked in the Petroleum Field; Deputy Sheriff in Larimer County, Co.;

he worked in Security at the 6th Floor Kennedy Museum in Dallas and at the Kansas

Cosmosphere and Space Center

EDUCATION: Graduated Sterling High School in 1952, graduated KSU in 1956 with a

Bachelor of Science Degree; attended Sterling College for 2 years

VETERAN: Army National Guard, serving with the Military Police.

MEMBERSHIPS: grew up in the Sterling Presbyterian Church and currently was a member

of the United Methodist Church, Sterling; member of Delta Tau Delta at KSU; life member of the American Rifle Association; He was the Great-Grandson of Dr. Francis Spencer who was

the first President of Sterling College;

DATE OF MARRIAGE: He married Joy Lower at Aldeo, Ill., May 5, 1957 she died in March 7, 1995.

He married Clara Mae Williford Belden, July 10, 1999 at Sterling

SURVIVORS:  Wife, Clara Mae Kilbourn of the home; 2 Daughters, Susan & Michael Beckett, Oklahoma City, Martha Ann & David Stippich, Colorado Springs; 4 Grandchildren; Jessie Beckett, Roberta Rowland , Michelle Bennet , Michael Kilbourn,  4 Great-Grandchildren

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Parents; Brother, Robert Kilbourn

SERVICES: 10:30A.M. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at United Methodist Church, Sterling

OFFICIATING: Rev. Jeff Miller and Matt Hendricks

BURIAL: Sterling Community Cemetery with Military Honors by Sterling American Legion

MEMORIAL: Sterling High School Track Program or Sterling High School Gun Club in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling
