Shirley was born Sept. 1, 1936, in Lyons, Kansas, to Theodore and Margaret Hardwick. As a high school freshman, she met the love of her life, Richard Jobe. They were married on July 22, 1956. While Richard was in the Air Force, they were stationed at Harlingen AFB, Mather AFB, Kirkland AFB, Yokata Base, Japan, Wright-Patterson AFB, Lockbourne AFB, and Eglin AFB. While in Japan, she and Richard went to the 1964 Olympics. After retiring from the Air Force, Richard and Shirley made their permanent home in Fort Worth. A true Texas Rangers’ fan, Shirley’s lifelong dream was to attend a World Series game and she was able to do that several years ago. In her home, there were three seasons: Texas Rangers, college football and KU basketball. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Richard Jobe, and her parents, Ted and Margaret Hardwick. Shirley is survived by her son, Kevin Jobe (Melissa); daughter, Kerry Olvey; and grandchildren, Torry Jobe, Chantal Shawn (Darryl), Jessica Olvey and Mo Olvey; and sister, Judy Sellers (Steve).
