Mary Louise (Pollard) Schoonover

Mary Louise Schoonover, 80, of Lyons, died peacefully March 14, 2018 at 7:00 A.M., at the Hutchinson Hospital. She was born February 24, 1938 at Lyons Hospital, Lyons, Kansas, daughter to Edward (Snub) and Teresa Pollard. Mary graduated from Norton High School, class of 1956. She married Wayne Schoonover, her high school sweetheart, they celebrated 61 years of marriage last July 2017. In addition to her husband, Wayne, she is survived by 3 children; Doug and Chris, Lori and Dale, and Ron and Debbie; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jackie Dressler. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons with Father Patrick Kotrba officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bell and Star Fund, for the Lyons, Kansas Christmas decorations,  in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
