Junior Lee Stimatze

Junior Lee “Bud” Stimatze, 86, of Little River, KS., passed away November 27, 2017 at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born December 5, 1930 in Byers, Kansas, the son of Walter L. and Verna Marie (Bell) Stimatze. Junior worked for Rosencrantz-Bemis Water Wells and General Drilling, Great Bend as an oil well driller for 18 years; Northern Natural Gas Company in Conway for 14 years; farmer and rancher; and a retired school bus driver for Little River School District. Junior was a member of the Congregational Church, Little River and their Men’s Fellowship. On August 18, 1957, Junior was united in marriage to Evelyn Dixie Carothers in Boone, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2012. He was also preceded by his parents; son, Quentin Derek; brother; Gary Richard Stimatze; and sister, Fern Spurill. Junior is survived by his son, Walter P. and Mary Sue Stimatze of Concordia, KS., daughters; Melinda and Dennis Belcher of Arlington, KS, Lee Ann and Brad Carey of Hutchinson, KS. and Lorinda and Ray Dees of Shawnee, OK; 15 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 1, 2017 at Congregational Church, Little River with Pastor Ted Weis officiating. Burial will be 2:30 P.M., Friday at Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, KS. Memorials can be made to Hospice House, Hutchinson or Congregational Church, Little River in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
