Jack Stewart Obituary

Jack Stewart, 94, of Lyons, passed away November 21, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Lyons. He was born June 6, 1923 in Lyons to O.C. and Janie (Fagan) Stewart. Jack was a life-long farmer, a 60 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed woodworking. On August 12, 1942, Jack was united in marriage with Ceil Fliess in Lyons, KS. They enjoyed 72 years of marriage, during which time they traveled throughout the United States and loved to polka dance. She preceded him in death on August 16, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Bennett. Jack is survived by his sons; Mike (Carol) Stewart of Omaha, AR and Lawrence (Nancy) Stewart of Lawson, MO; daughter Gretchen Stewart of Longmont, CO; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons is handling arrangements.
