PARENTS:   John H. & Cora C. Bernstorf Farver

RESIDENCE:  rural Little River formerly of Burlingame

OCCUPATION: Attorney practicing until 2003.

EDUCATION: graduated Little River High School in class of 1952; undergraduate degree in business administration from Washburn University, Topeka. His education was interrupted

when he received orders to enter the military service. He returned to Washburn University

School of Law and graduated in 1963.  Adrian initially entered general private practice.  His

law career also included serving as Burlingame City Attorney and Osage County Attorney.

He was appointed as an assistant United States Attorney, Chief of the Criminal Division of the Topeka office for three and a half years. He practiced law until 2003.  He enjoyed living his retirement years with his wife on the family farm and visiting his children and grandchildren.

VETERAN: U. S. Air Force serving from August 1957 to June 1960; he completed his reserve

commitment in 1970 as Captain. His love of flying led him to get his private pilot’s license in

the early 1980’s

MARRIED: Helen Schenck, they later divorced

SURVIVORS:  Wife, Mary Jeanette of the home; 2 Daughters, Jane Stewart, Kansas City, Mo., Anne & Robert Lightcap, Shawnee, Ks.; Step-Son, Peter Burns, Los Angles, Ca.; Sister,

Jonell Schenk, Shawnee, Ks.; 3 Grandchildren, Ashley & Steve Cisetti, Nicholas & Isaac Lightcap

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY:  Parents; Sister, Ione Janssen; infant Brother, John Harrison

FUNERAL SERVICES:  11:00 A.M., Monday, May 9, 2016 at United Methodist Church, Little River, Ks.

OFFICIATING:  Rev. Josh Johnson and Pastor Ted Weis

BURIAL:  Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River, with Military Honors

VISITATION: 2:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present 3:00 to 5:00

MEMORIAL:  Kansas Children’s Service League or United Methodist Church, in care of the

funeral home
